Dinner @ Yu Hing

I’m sure a lot of you know where Yu Hing is right? If you don’t, it’s located at Hilltop.

I try to avoid this place, as I’ve heard that it’s quite expensive, but some friends wanted to eat there last night, and so I just joined them for the experience. Smile

The shop

They serve home cooked dishes here, and there are a few signature dishes, but we didn’t have any. What we did have though were these:

Char Siu Omelette

Veggies with Meat

Ham Choy Soup

And Sweet & Sour Fish, with the Tomato Sauce. We were told that there were 2 versions of this dish: 1, with a clear sauce, and 2, with Tomato Sauce. Interesting, huh? Wonder what the clear sauce version tastes like..

And yes, they all were delicious!

All these dishes cost us around RM60++ (for 3 pax).. so you be the judge on whether it’s expensive or not..

But no doubt, the dishes sure are yummy..

Family Dinner @ Restoran Masakan Sedap

** Another overdue post.. sheeshh **

Restoran Masakan Sedap located at Hilltop was where my family celebrated dad’s dinner on 25th May ‘08. It was only a simple dinner as we all just came back from a 5 star resort in Tuaran.

This was my first time eating here at Restoran Masakan Sedap.. and I at first got confused with the other restaurant called Restoran Masakan Sihat (which no longer exist.. I think?)! Haha.. Silly me!

Anyway, you can’t miss this restaurant as it’s located more or less the same block as Foo Phing Dim Sum. If you reach at the roundabout, you’ll be able to see this corner shop already. It has a big sign hehe..

Also, if you’re a loyal reader of my personal blog, then you’d remember the purple chandelier I blogged about sometime end of last month. (if you don’t know what the heck I’m talking about, then click HERE). Anyway, I took a pic of that pretty chandelier here at this restaurant! Now you know! hehe..

Think this is the side entrance? Cuz it has a smaller sign..

Each table has a dragon picture on the lazy susan (the rotating thing, in case you don’t know). Unique huh..

Anyways, these were the food that we ordered that night:

We had lotus root with chicken soup. Yummy!

Ginger deer meat! Haven’t had these in such a long time!! And I wasn’t disappointed; it was very tender and juicy! Delicious!

A veggie that we always order whenever we eat out; the Sabah Veggie aka Sayur Manis (also known as Pucuk manis)!

And finally, Steamed Fish with Black Beans and chillies, with some cilantro sprinkled on top. Yummy! I love steamed fish!

And for the 7 of us, the amount the dishes given were perfect, as we finished them all!

And a usual in restaurants here in KK, fruits are served as desserts. And the one above, watermelons and some kind of pudding were served. I forgot what kind of pudding it was though.. hehe..

Anyway, we were told that this restaurant also doesn’t use any MSG? If it’s true, then that’s really good news! I won’t mind going there again!

And I guess this restaurant is halal.. since I see several ladies with tudungs eating here?

And guys, please don’t confuse the name of this restaurant with Restoran Makanan Sedap instead. It’s Restoran Masakan Sedap ya! Wink

Fish Head Meehoon @ Kedai Kopi Hilltop

This morning, the BF brought me over to Kedai Kopi Hilltop for brunch to try out their fish cakes and supposedly famous fish head meehoon.

OMG the fish cakes are so delicious! If you haven’t tried it out, then you definitely should sometime soon!

Fish cakes; SUPER delicious!

The BF ordered Kon Lo Fish Chap, and him being a heavy food critic, he found this meal to be only average..

And this is mine; fish head meehoon. OMG I couldn’t even eat the meehoon, as there were A LOT of fish bones in my bowl! But then again, not that there were a lot of mee hoon to eat, anyway.. so I’d give this meal and thumbs down. It’s not worth my money. The fish head meehoon over at Kedai Kopi Dat Seng is much better to me..

Dim Sum @ Foo Phing

If you’re a local, then you would probably have heard about the famous dim sum restaurant in Lintas/Hilltop called Foo Phing.

If you have not heard of it, Foo Phing is a VERY popular place to eat dim sum here in KK. The number of people that come to this place is crazy! This place is packed most of its business hours! Talk about good business!

Not only are the dim sum served here are yummy (and have quite a good selection), the restaurant has both and aircon and non-aircon places to sit. Most of the people would try to get a seat on the aircon room first, though!

Here is the non-aircon section, which is basically in between the 2 aircon lots.

And here is one of the aircon section, where luckily my family managed to get a table before I got there..

I’ve already mentioned that they have a lot of dim sum selections to choose from, and because I was too hungry, I forgot to take about most of the dim sum we ordered!

But I did managed to take these pics:

The 2 differrent kinds of pau; the big types and the little ones:

Keep in mind that this place is not halal.

So to you dim sum lovers, this place is worth to have a try!
