Western Food @ The Blues

** This cafe serves no pork **

I've blogged before on which cafe I always get my dose of juice each week (but if you haven't read it, it's HERE). I just LOVE going there and hang out with my fiance (and with friends once in a while), mainly because their juices are really uber delicious, especially my favourite drink, Avocado Juice! Yummy!

And lately, whenever we have cravings for western food, we'd order it here at The Blues (used to be known as Blu Knight Cafe), since they also serve food there as well.

And this is what I always order:

Chicken Chop. There are 3 types of sauces to go with it: Mushroom, Black Pepper, and Mint sauce. I used to get the mushroom sauce, but now I've changed it to black pepper. I just think it tastes better with black pepper now.

Also, the chicken does tend to be on the salty side, so make sure you tell them not to put as much salt on it! (or tell them to omit the salt altogether!) ;)

You can also try out their lamb chop here, but the chicken chop is better, IMHO. Sauces available are the same 3 sauces: mushroom, black pepper, and mint sauce.

Give it a try and let me know how it went!

Oh, but take note, if you're thinking of ordering just water at this cafe, you will still be charged RM1.50, as they only serve mineral waters.

Tuaran Mee & Soto @ Kedai Kopi Sin Fatt Hing

Whenever I crave for soto, this is the coffeeshop that I would always go to, ever since I was in high school: the Kedai Kopi Sin Fatt Hing.

Even though it's a chinese coffeeshop, there is a Muslim soto stall inside the shop itself, that sells, rojak and soto (chicken or beef). It is halal because if you are eating from this stall, you will be given the stall's own set of fork and spoon, as well as their soy sauce, etc.

You can see Muslim people do come and eat here as well. It's like a mini food court right inside a coffeeshop itself!

Soto Daging (meat soto)

I personally always order the "Soto Daging" (meat soto) whenever I come here, as I prefer the meat taste as compared to the chicken in my soto.

But if you don't feel like eating soto (or rojak) AND if you are non-Muslim, you can always opt for the coffeeshop's own dishes, like one of their signature dish, the Tuaran Mee.

Yummy Tuaran Mee

Whenever I have a craving for Tuaran mee, I would always get it from this coffeeshop as well. That's because these 2 dishes (as well as their wat tan ho) have grown on me ever since I was in All Saints high school, which is located right in front of this coffeeshop!

** I'm gonna tag this post as a halal AND serve no pork, as both are applicable **

Cook Your Own Meal @ SM Shabu Shabu

Shabu-shabu galore!

As what I posted on my personal blog, I just love Shabu-shabu, or any dish that involves having a soup, for that matter!
In case you don’t know what Shabu-Shabu is, it’s a Japanese dish consisting of raw meat (usually paper-thin slices of beef) and raw vegetables cooked by each diner at the table in a pot of hot broth.

Sure, after you eat, your shirt smells something like those poorly ventilated kitchens (well, you ARE the one doing the cooking after all, LOL.. ), but if you just want to take your time having your meal, then Shabu-shabu is definitely something you should try out once in a while! Go ahead; I’m sure you’ll enjoy it!

If you do not know where SM Shabu-Shabu is, it is located at Damai, and it is on the same row as the post office there.
