Western Food @ The Blues

** This cafe serves no pork **

I’ve blogged before on which cafe I always get my dose of juice each week (but if you haven’t read it, it’s HERE). I just LOVE going there and hang out with my fiance (and with friends once in a while), mainly because their juices are really uber delicious, especially my favourite drink, Avocado Juice! Yummy!

And lately, whenever we have cravings for western food, we’d order it here at The Blues (used to be known as Blu Knight Cafe), since they also serve food there as well.

And this is what I always order:

Chicken Chop. There are 3 types of sauces to go with it: Mushroom, Black Pepper, and Mint sauce. I used to get the mushroom sauce, but now I’ve changed it to black pepper. I just think it tastes better with black pepper now.

Also, the chicken does tend to be on the salty side, so make sure you tell them not to put as much salt on it! (or tell them to omit the salt altogether!) ;)

You can also try out their lamb chop here, but the chicken chop is better, IMHO. Sauces available are the same 3 sauces: mushroom, black pepper, and mint sauce.

Give it a try and let me know how it went!

Oh, but take note, if you’re thinking of ordering just water at this cafe, you will still be charged RM1.50, as they only serve mineral waters.

    Carnelia,

Looks very nice. But the slaw and fried frozen chips doused with cheap chilli sauce always bothers me about “western food” served in this country.

And also thousand island dressing with salad.

Enter New York, New York at 1Borneo. Food is great at more reasonable pricing than the hyped Dome and underachieving Secret Recipe outlets nearby.

I know, you haven’t found it. I also didn’t on my first five visits to the mall. It’s tucked away on the ground floor behind the 1Borneo sales office.

The food is typical American with a wide variety of starters, sandwiches, soups, salad, meats, fish, pastas, pizzas and oh very sinful desserts!

I’ve been there twice and I’ve had its Clam Chowder (***1/2) - should be thicker IMHO; Rib Eye Steak (Medium) with Black Pepper Sauce (****) - side salad should contain more greens; Mushroom Pizza (*****) - perfect!

My friend had fish and chips - only **1/2 star i think cos they still use frozen processed potato. Sigh.

On my second visit I had spaghetti alfredo (they ran out of fettuchini) with fish (**** 1/2) - the alfredo sauce doused the pasta very well and the fish was succulent. Since I am a glutton I also had a whole 9″ pizza for myself. It was the Philly Steak and Cheese pizza (chunks of beef and lots of cheese on top of the crispy/chew base!) (****) - damn I thought I had only one favourite pizza!

Drinks? Well since I’m cutting back on my sugar intake (yeah right), I gulped down only iced water (50 sen) and no desserts for me. I’m cutting back on my sugar, remember?

Heheheh… would like to read your review on that place. And should I add that I SHOULD’VE written this review in my OWN blog. Hahahhaha

    OK girl, happy makan.

ewan, in this case, you eat what you pay, and since this food is quite reasonable, that’s why there’s no dressing such as thousand island and such.

I’ve been to NYNY. Will blog about it soon And tq for your thoughts on the food there! :)

and btw, it’s Caneeliea not Carnelia LOL!
