Excellent Seafood @ Salut Seafood Restaurant

I’ve forgotten that I haven’t posted anything about the fresh seafood at Salut here on this food blog, so I am just going to copy my pics from my personal blog and post them here for you to enjoy!

Steamed prawns

Soft Shell Crabs

Sapak

Oyster Omelette and Sayur Manis (Sabah Veggie)

Salut Seafood Restaurant is still one my favourite (if not THE favourite) seafood restaurant here. Not only because the food is fresh and cooked deliciously everytime, the prices are cheaper than those seafood restaurants downtown KK too!

You can also read a post of Salut that I have done on my other blog here.

Delicious Tom Yam @ Prapeni Thai

Recently I have this craving for some Tom Yam Goong. I’ve tried a few Thai restaurants here in KK, but some of them aren’t what I expected. So the BF brought me to Petagas to eat at Prapeni Thai.

The first time I’ve been to this eatery was a couple of years back, and it’s nice to see that the place looks better now.

Tom Yam Goong (seafood)

Here at Prapeni Thai, you can either order a big bowl of Tom Yam Goong (for more than 2 pax), or you can order a small bowl for just a single person (pic above). This Tom Yam Goong is served with a plate of rice. You can also have a choice for either spicy or non-spicy ones. But to me, I very much prefer the spicy version! But just be careful that you don’t accidentally bite the cili padi or you’ll end up crying like I did! So after some time, I removed the cili padi from the soup in order for me not to bite into them again! LOL!

But the verdict of this Tom Yam Goong: excellent!

Sup Tulang (oxtail soup) Tom Yam

You can also choose this sup tulang (oxtail soup), Tom Yam version if you want something different. It basically tastes like sup tulang + tom yam soup. It’s also very delicious! I’m going to order this again on my next visit there!

If I’m not mistaken, the price for each small bowl of tom yam goong and sup tulang soup is about RM6.50 each.

And finally, the location. The above is the exact location, but if you still do not know where it is, just find the furniture shop called Rustica, and go into the junction after it. It should lead you to a few rows of shoplots, and Prapeni Thai is located to the right hand side of these shop lots.

The Place To Go To For Supper

After a long night of partying and clubbing, where do you usually go for supper?

To me, I would usually drag the BF and friends (if I could, that is) to the famous prawn mee soup in Foh Sang! And judging by the crowd that comes to this coffeeshop (called Kedai Kopi Emas Helang) every late night, about half (if not most) of them have just finished clubbing, too! A few of them have told me that this prawn mee (or ha mien in Chinese) is a great remedy to clear the dizziness (or drunkness) from all the alcohol consumed before! And you know what? I agree with that 100%! Hehe..

The coffeeshop:

The quality of my cameraphone’s not so good at night

This prawn mee looks very plain, but trust me, it’s VERY delicious!

If you do not like the prawn mee (though I do not see why you shouldn’t), you can opt to order the fried kway teow instead. It’s quite delicious as well

So the next time you want to have something to drink or eat to clear the head after a long night of clubbing or partying, head on over to Kedai Kopi Emas Helang and order their ha mien!
