Spanish Dinner @ Barcelona Tapas Y Cava

Tried out the unique Spanish restaurant called Barcelona Tapas Y Cava at Warisan Square a few days ago.

Some brief Spanish lesson for the title of this restaurant:

  • Tapas: pronounced as TAH-PA, is the name for a wide variety of appetizers in Spanish cuisine
  • Y: pronounced as the letter ‘E’, is AND in English
  • Cava: pronounced as CAH-BA, is the Spanish sparkling wine

Okay, back to the review!

The inside decor..

After ordering, we received our first complimentary dishes, the Today’s Special, Sangria ‘D’ Most. It’s actually a bunch of fruits blended into this interesting drink..

The BF ordered Virgin Mary just to see what it tastes like, and I ordered Lime Colada

This is our second complimentary dish, Cheese Nuggets. The cheese is imported all the way from Spain, and in fact, we were told that all of their ingredients are imported from Spain!

This is Perinyaca, a mix of potato, tuna chunks, eggs, onion, as well as tomato in olive oil. Simple and yet, delicious dish!

Next dish that arrived is this: Gambas al Ajillo. It is basically prawn cooked in garlic oil and dried chilli. Since I love prawns, this is one of my favourite dishes!

Our main dish is this: Paella Mixta. This dish is made of the traditional Spanish yellow rice, cooked with seafood, beef, chicken, and of course, some vegetables. Delicious!

After we were all done, we got another surprise from the chef, another complimentary dessert. I had forgotten the name of it, but this is cream with sugar. Very simple dish, and yet, tasted excellent.

I was also told that a new chef will be a different one every 3 months, so you can be assured that the menu and the food preparation will surely be fresh and different! I would surely come back to this restaurant again, especially on the Opening Day!

If any of you would like to have a meal that is authentic and unique cuisine, then you should definitely try out this restaurant! The food is excellent, the decor is very apt, and Spanish music playing in the background while you dine.

Dinner @ Emperor’s Delight

* non-halal post *

Passed by Emperor’s Delight several times and saw that it was always full of people. So curious as to what kind of food they sell, I too went there recently..

The entrance (it’s located opposite of Esso Station downtown)

What the inside looks like without most of the customers

Some of their signature dishes

Their cooks busy preparing the food, especially La Main (spelt by them, but shouldn’t it be La Mien? Hmm..) It’s their special mee, by the way..

The first dish that arrived. Presentation skill is certainly not there, as the veggies were hanging out of the plate!

This is Shanghai Bun, a dim sum dish..

This is the inside.. filled with the soup and meat. You have to drink the soup first before eating the meat. But be careful though, the soup is scorching hot!

A dish that looks (and tastes) just like Murtabak. It’s a Meat Pancake, as they call it..

Their signature dish, the La Main. But unfortunately, I just don’t see what the fuss is about on this mee, tasted quite plain..

Out of all the dishes that were ordered, I only like the Shanghai Bun, and the veggies, despite its leaves were hanging onto the four corners of the plate.

Guess some people would like this place, but to me, it’s just another coffeeshop, with aicon.
