Moving To New URL

Guys, from now on, I’ll be posting new posts on my new food blog: http://kk-food.blogspot.com/, simply because this blog takes AGES to load!

But I’ll keep this blog up, and I guess when I have the time, I’ll try to move the posts bit by bit to the new blog!

See you guys at my new food blog!

Hi Seoul @ Likas Square

Here’s another Korean Restaurant food post!

Location of the restaurant: Likas Square.. you can straightaway see it when you come into the Likas Square parking lot. It’s located at where the A&W used to be.

This newly opened Korean restaurant (only 3 months old) is called Hi Seoul, a  Korean Fusion Food Restaurant.

This is how the restaurant looks outside

The entrance

After ordering, you will be given 2 (depending on how many pax at your table) ‘mini marshmallows’. It’s not for you to eat, though! The waitress would then return with a kettle and pour a little bit of hot water on the ‘marshmallows’ and it will expand into 2 cloth wipes!

Free appetizers given.. the Kim-Chi (delicious, I might add!)

And the horseradish

This is what I ordered for myself: Ginseng Chicken Soup with Glutinous Rice or Sam-Gye-Tang (price: RM20)

I was surprised that I was given a big half chicken in my soup! But I was told by the manager that in Korea, eating half chicken is nothing to them.. wow!

Inside my soup, the ginseng and red dates (and the glutinous rice wayyyy at the bottom of the soup)

If you are feeling unwell, but need a healthy soup to fill up your stomach, then this is perfect for you! It’s such a healthy soup! I like it!

As for WC, he was given a pair of scissors before his actual food came. Imagine the confusion! Hehe..

But we were told that the scissors are needed to cut the noodles in his dish, the Cold Buckwheat Noodles with Vegetables, Meat & Spicy Sauce, or simply called Naengmyeon. (price: RM15) According to him, it tasted good, since he just love cold noodles.
Our total bill came to RM45.15, which includes 2 cans of 100 plus.

Give this place a try if you want to try some good and heathly Korean food!

Fish Head Beehoon Soup @ Bukit Padang

* This stall serves no pork *

This has always been one of my all time favourite eateries to go to on a weekend. I just LOVE fish head beehoon soup!

This stall is located on the food stall beside the Church of Mary Immaculate in Bukit Padang, and across the road from the Bukit Padang Hospital.

It’s been here for a long time now, I heard, and business is still going strong.

It’s no wonder too, as their fish head beehoon soup is really delicious! I love their freshly fried fish in the soup too! Can’t get enough of it! (price: regular RM5, Large RM7.50)

Rating from me: 5/5! Yes, it’s that good! And worth every penny!

As usual, WC would go for kon lo mee, so his fish soup is clear version. Plain, IMO, but if you don’t want any fats in your food, I guess this is good enough.. and according to him, it tasted delicious nonetheless! (price: RM5 but correct me if I’m wrong)

Do you guy still eat at this stall?

Hong Kong Restaurant, Lintas Square

WC and I went to Lintas Square the other night and tried out a Chinese (but serve no pork) restaurant called Hong Kong Restaurant.

And these are what we ordered:

Fish Maw Soup
Fish Maw Soup, my favourite soup!

The soup has a lot of stuff inside: generous amount of fish maw, mushroom, tofu, egg, carrots, and lettuce. Yummy! 4/5!

Butter Prawn
Butter Prawn, my 1 of 2 favourite prawn dishes!

Tasted good. You guys have to try this if you haven’t already done so! 5/5

We also ordered 1 kilo of crabs (RM30/kg) and had them cook it into 2 different styles..

Sweet & Sour Crab
Sweet & Sour Crab

We finished this dish in no time. ‘Nuff said. 5/5

Kam Heong Crab
Kam Heong Crab
I know it was supposed to be spicy (after all, it is cooked in curry), but I think they put too much curry in, and I couldn’t finish it. But it was delicious, nonetheless! 4/5!

This BIG meal for 2 (plus 4 glasses of Chinese Teh Ping) cost us RM90.40.

Will keep this restaurant in mind when I need to bring my family out for dinner the next time around!

My Bad Experience @ Kedai Kopi Daily (2)

After reading a friend of mine’s post just now about the bad service they received at one of the hang out spots, it reminded me of my own bad service experience that I had last night while I dined out with WC!

Did you guys know that there is a Kedai Kopi Daily (2) in Jalan Gaya? Not only in Foh Sang guys! It’s also 24 hours, and is a WiFi Zone too! AND they serve no pork! AND their menu is extensive!

Before I go on with the bad service, let me show you guys what we ordered:

My chicken mee soup. (price: RM5)

Looks good, right? But trust me, this was bad. Oil in the soup was about an inch thick (I could see it in my bowl!), so I was only drinking oil instead of soup! Urgh! Also, despite of me asking only chicken, they also added some fish cakes inside? Okayyy…

I seriously wonder why they wanna put oil in the soup (they added it in the middle of the dish); it totally ruined it. Sans the oil though, the dish would’ve still be okay. Oh wait. The chicken tasted too much of the steel of the knife (that they used to cut it with is my guess). I just couldn’t even eat half of my food.

0/5 for this dish! Luckily it was only RM5..

This is what WC had: Chicken Paprik Fried Rice. (price: RM7.50)

Well, he asked for chicken, but once again, they also gave him seafood as well. Weird. Don’t the cook even read the orders? And, I thought Nasi Paprik is supposed to be cooked with Tomato Sauce? None for this dish, though..

But according to WC, he said this dish is delicious. Portion was a lot too! 3/5 from him. I loved the veggies.. hehe..

We also ordered this dish: Seafood Sweet & Sour dish. (price: RM7.50)

Now this dish is delicious! Worth to order the next time! Portion is just right for 2 pax too!

But okayyy… now to my bad service I had here. One of the girl first took WC’s order as I was still trying to decide what I can eat that won’t upset my tummy. So when my turn came, I was still browsing their menu, as like I’ve said before, their menu is quite extensive. After just like 5 seconds of waiting for me, the girl then started to tap her fingers on the table! A sign to tell me to hurry up! WTF! A person should never, ever do that when taking your orders, no matter how slow you are! And only for 5 seconds?? So I saw the most bland dish on the menu, which is the above mee soup, and just quickly ordered that. Sheesh.. Even WC was pissed about that.

So the point of this post: no matter if you have a restaurant or just a coffee shop, NEVER EVER TAP YOUR FINGERS ON THE TABLE TO HURRY UP THE CUSTOMERS WITH THEIR ORDERS! That is just a plain NO-NO! I mean.. wtf, right??

Sigh.. but despite the oily dish I had, I am still willing to come back there for the next time to try out their other menu. They have an extensive menu there (as I’ve mentioned before)! Just like in restaurants!

I just hope that we get a different waiter/waitress the next time around!

Dining @ Miyabi Japanese Restaurant

I’ve blogged about Miyabi Japanese Restaurant in February last year on my other blog (read it HERE).

Well, WC and I had dinner there again just now, and here’s what we ordered:

Miyabi Food
The Age Daashi Doofu (price: RM6) This is a must for us everytime we dine here, only tonight it tasted cold and not like its usual..

This is what I ordered for my main meal:

Miyabi Food
A dish with lotsa beef on it! And seriously, it was A LOT!

Miyabi Food
My meal is called the Gyu Niku Set, or Sliced Beef with Ginger Sauce Rice Set (price: RM16). I’m not much of a side dish eater, so I gave those a pass, except for the soup and the fruits hehe.. The beef taste was so-so. Could’ve been slightly more tender IMO.. but the sauce was yummy, which I guess made me didn’t mind it as much! :)

Miyabi Food
This is what WC had: Course No.7, which consists of the things like udon, fried chicken, tempura, salmon sushi, chawan mushi and fruits. (price: RM22) According to him, the udon was delicious (he’s a big udon fan, so trust him on this! hehe..) the rest were yummy as well, except for the salmon sushi. Today it was badly done; the salmon was poorly cut and was falling apart!

I don’t know about you guys, but Miyabi Japanese Restaurant is still definitely a place to come to from time to time, simply because the food is reasonably priced and there are less people dining here. To those of you who haven’t tried this place, maybe you should and give your input here.

  • Miyabi’s Address: Lot 53, Block G, Damai Plaza IV, Luyang
  • Tel: 088-258939
  • Opening hours: 11:30am - 2:30pm (Lunch), 6:30pm - 10:00pm (Dinner)

Delicious Desserts @ Bella Italia

Had some very nice desserts at Bella Italia this afternoon with Sis Jewelle, and these were what we ordered:

Tiramisu
Tiramisu (price: RM12++)

Fantasia Di Maria
And of course my favourite dessert there, the Fantasia Di Maria (I’ve blogged about it before on my personal blog HERE) (price: RM12++)

The prices for both of these desserts have risen from RM9 to RM12, though, this time, the portion of Fantasia Di Maria was slightly less and not as gooey as before, so we were a little bit disappointed about that. But it was still delicious, trust me! To those of you who love chocolate, you must try this dessert!

** The Bella Italia Pizzeria Ristorante Cafe is located at  Ground Floor, Jesselton Hotel at 69, Gaya Street. Click on the Bella Italia link above for more details of the location and opening hours **

More Of Wagamama Food!

If you haven’t noticed by now, my favourite food has got to be Japanese food, and I just LOVE to eat at Wagamama, don’t ask me why. Hehe..

So had a big dinner with sis Jewelle and family just now, over at Wagamama in KAC branch and we all ordered dishes that were never ordered before. I thought I’d share the pics with you guys and let y’all know how it went!

Sushi & Gyoza
As usual, we had to take dishes from the conveyor belt. We also tried out their Gyoza, the Japanese version of dumpling. All were delicious as usual and were gone in a mere minutes!

Chicken Teriyaki Don
Sis ordered this Chicken Teriyaki Don, which is BBQ sliced chicken on rice, and according to her, it was delicious! (price: RM13.80)

Tori Shoyu Ramen
She also ordered this Tori Shoyu Ramen (smoked chicken slices with ramen noodles) for the kids. I guess it must be delicious as well, because they finished it! (price: RM12.80)

Salmon Teriyaki Don
This was what I ordered: Salmon Teriyaki Don (BBQ salmon on rice) and OMG, this has got to be my favourite dish now! It’s super delicious! But you gotta ask for extra sauce for it to taste better though! Trust me, if you love Salmon, you must try this dish! (price: RM20.80)

Salmon Atama Nabe

And finally, this cool dish belonged to WC

Salmon Atama Nabe
It’s the Salmon Atama Nabe, or braised salmon head with some veggie and tung hoon. He said this dish is a very light low fat meal; perfect for those on a diet. BUT, according to him, you must love eating Salmon head in order to enjoy this dish hehe.. (price: RM15.80)

So have you guys tried out any of the dishes mentioned in this post? What do you guys think of them?
